Louis Derluyn

Doctoral researcher

Louis graduated medical school at the Catholic University of Leuven in 2023 after which he started his residency in internal medicine in AZ Delta Roeselare. In October 2025 he started his PhD in our IBD-research team, focusing on stricturing disease and postoperative recurrence after small bowel resection in patients with Crohn’s disease. Using state of the art techniques, such as epigenomic and transcriptomic analysis, he examines the triggers both inside and outside the intestinal wall for these disease complications.
